Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

I really didn't want to get out of bed this morning. Today is a whiny day for me. I just want to go to bed and eat the peanut brittle that Paul brought me! It is SO absolutely amazing...oh, if you like peanut brittle you MUST try Tiff's...yuuummmm.

I laid in bed thinking "no one would even know if I didn't run, no one reads my blog anymore, well, maybe because you don't read anyone else's blog you stinker! Maybe I can find a good excuse? I don't want to get dressed, it is late, shoot...I've got to get the kids to school. I don't have time to get ready first, I'll just come home and get stuff done and not go to the gym. Uggghhh, fine...I'll go."

So, I took kids to school, came home got laundry started, changed my clothes, made some phone calls and left for the gym. Just a short 6. Plug into the music and do it.

2 on the TM 16:45

1 on the track

2 on the TM 16:00 (8:20, 7:47+progressive finish)

Then I had to rush off to home to get my Kindergartner. Now I need to do about 5 weeks worth of cleaning, laundry and dishes. I'm tired of my husband working until midnight and playing single mom around Christmas. I'm burnt out and turning into more of a Scrooge than I normally am at Christmas. We finally got a Christmas tree Monday when dad got home at 8PM, but because he has been working so much he never gets home early enough to decorate it! So, I have a tree, undecorated sitting in my front room. NO other Christmas stuff up, because I need to clean first, but between my new calling at church, crazy life and lack of motivation can't get the cleaning done! Stink. So, today is the day. I'm going to get it done. I want my kids to enjoy a FEW days of Christmas anticipation at home...maybe? :)

Sorry I've been such a bad blogger lately. I get FB lazy - check on a lot of you there and just don't get on the blog enough!

Funny how the day that I happened to read your blog is the day that you say no one reads it anymore. Silly silly.

Hang on Rachel! It is hard to be a "single mom". The cook, maid, disciplinarian, taxi driver, holiday decorator....just do your best. That is all you can do. What is your new calling?

Where do we want to run on Monday? We could do my neck of the woods and maybe get Karen????

David, I'm good at whining, huh? :)

Toby, Thankfully Craig has been SO overworked that they are actually flying someone in from TX to help him out! Yeah, and he has been doing it alone for 3 weeks now. Sad thing is that he says the deadlines for 90% of what he is doing is Monday, so it will pretty much be all done by the time he gets here on Wednesday. My new calling is compassionate svc coordinator. 4 babies, death of a 13yr old and RS pres had oral surgey. I was feeding (well, coordinating meals and all the 6PM drama that comes with it) for 4 families this week. Crazy. I really didn't think the calling entailed this much, but when the babies come...they come! :)

Monday? What about doing like the JRP in Lehi or the Murdock Canal trail? I could swing either of those and they are between all of us...I think.

Rachel, you're funny. I still read your blog, I just don't know what to say sometimes, so after a few minutes of trying to think of something, I close it out. lol

You've been doing better than me at exercising and blogging. I can remember those days when my husband worked long hours and I was home with 8 kids. It was hard but it was worth it. Between work, taking care of a sick husband and trying to Christmas shop I haven't done much exercise or blogging.

I think you just talk about so many things no one knows what to respond too. Tell Your husband no one does conferences in December. I've been a stay at home dad for 3 weeks and am so ready to get back to work.

I have been so busy knitting holiday sweaters that it's taken all my blogging time. Sorry :-(
