Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Well, there was hope that I might get to the gym this morning, but alas... taking a baby with a cold to his well child check just means immunizations and more feeling crappy. Poor kid, now he has a real fever! blah....

Up early, with a deadline this morning, hubby needed to be on time to work for a meeting, so no fooling around! Got out the door and on my way for my 8 mile loop. I did Juniper Crest UP loop, nice for the downhill there and flat/down back, but it has the monster hill in the middle. Ran into another runner a couple miles from home, chatted and ran a good couple with her until she turned off for home - just before the worst part of the hill. Nice to have some company!

On the last few miles home that are supposed to be nice flat/down easy miles my stomach started up on me again. I think it is either the cold or not eating before I run, either way I'm sick of it! Got light headed as well and wanted to just shut my eyes. Weird, but I just pushed through to get home on time. Walked in the door as hubby was walking down the stairs - perfect timing!

AP: 8:50 (slowest run so far this week! blah) splits: 8:28, 7:52, 7:57, 9:04, 10:06, 8:48, 9:12, 9:09. Can you tell where the hill is? :) then when my gut went out on me, yeah - I'm an open book in my splits! At least there were a couple miles under 8 - what I consider MP.

I've got another day of cuddling a sick baby in front of me, but I will hopefully get to do p90X stretch - I need it!

******Okay, here is the plan for Christmas Eve Run! 1500N at the bridge at Lehi JRP at 8:30 AM. We will bring hot cocoa and muffins, feel free to bring anything else. We figure most people will be doing around 13, so we'll go South and back. You can come and run as much or as little as you want, as fast or slow as you'd like :) Don't forget to bring your stinky blankets so you can stay warm while we party afterward!******

You've been putting in a lot of cold early morning miles. Impressive.

Wow!!! You are so dedicated!!! Getting up so early to brave the cold! NICE mileage and pace this week! All that hard work is going to pay off! Is it windy out your neck of the woods? It is a blowing howling deep freeze over here!

O we need to talk about our Christmas

Eve party! I know my friends most likely won't go to Herriman as they all have a busy day with family party plans and stuff. Maynard and JulieC want to join us and I am guessing since they live in AF that they'd prefer running in Lehi. Bec too! So, I am thinking we can either do the LEHI JRP or run around the hood by my house. I just don't know what everyone wants to run. It is just easier to do it on the trail if we all have different distance and pace. It would be ideal if we can go to chad's house after the run so we don't freeze our buns off after the run waiting in the parking lot. We can gather at Willow Park instead of the 1500 N bridge too! Give me your thoughts!

I am so sorry your baby is sick. I hope he gets feeling better before Christmas. Great job at getting a run in you are awesome!

From Kelli on Thu, Dec 22, 2011 at 14:36:39 from 71.219.80.158

OH MAN, it was so windy out there today (at least at 7:30 when I headed into the rec center!) Brrrr, way to tough it out. I hope that cute baby feels better soon!

From Chad on Thu, Dec 22, 2011 at 14:58:45 from 204.113.19.55

I have just been given the OK to gather at my house. I'm about 1 mile away from willow park. I don't care if we meet at my house instead of willow park but it is a little difficult to find. It's much easier to find from the trail but no one wants to run a mile back their cars after hot chocolate, etc.

So my house is an option if that is the consensus.

Chad, this is the first outside run this week, I've been pampered in the gym :)

Smooth, we'll have to chat!

Rachelle, me too. I'm just getting tired of having an ornery baby.

Kelli, It wasn't too bad. Maybe it wasn't so bad because I was running downhill when I felt the wind, but I think it has gotten worse as the day has gone on.

From RAD on Thu, Dec 22, 2011 at 15:33:49 from 98.202.23.178

Chad, I think we're just going to stick with 1500N at the bridge and brave the cold afterward. Plus, then I might not sit around a talk so much since I'll be cold :)

From Bec on Fri, Dec 23, 2011 at 01:11:10 from 71.199.9.12

I'll be there...maybe David too! (JRP Saturday).

Great run outside, wind was harsh today.

From RAD on Fri, Dec 23, 2011 at 11:56:20 from 98.202.23.178

It will be nice to see David if he decides to brave the cold with us :)
