Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Met the BBKers for group run this morning. Did a slow 3 mi warm-up, but I felt like I had lead legs!!! It took a long time this morning to get feeling comfortable and able to run a good pace. After warm-up we did an almost 3 mile tempo loop down the JRP- up 106th accross 1000W then down to JRP. Kelli kept me going...then she decided we needed to catch Michelle and Cheryl in front of us, it may have been the last 100 yds and downhill, but we finally caught them!! Then we reversed the loop and ran it again, the uphill was easier this way... YEA!! This loop I ran alone most of the time, but was finally ready to push myself to keep the pace up. Finished with a nice slow cool-down of just over a mile.

AP: 8:33/ warm-up: 9:15, 8:40, 8:44/ 1st tempo: 8:46, 9:01, 7:48/ 2nd tempo: 8:30, 7:44, 7:55/ cool-down: 9:05

okay, so the warm-up and cool-down weren't as slow as I thought!! No wonder I was dead!!

Afterward I got to ride my bike to the gym for Yoga, then had to battle the uphill to get home - I just put the gear lower and spin my feet, I'm not in a rush to get anywhere....especially when I'm biking UP-hill :)

Lovely afternoon....too bad we get a soggy Saturday :( maybe we can wish it away!!

Nice miles Girly! WOW!! I am loving my RAD diet :) I am down 6.8 lbs since Sunday :) Now don't get too excited. I always weight a TON sundays because of my long runs on Saturday :) I am still pretty happy :) I am waking up HUNGRY!!! :) Good signs ;D

VERY good signs!! I'm glad you're liking it...maybe it'll inspire me to put down the candy and join you :)

Look at your speedy splits. I am positive I never ventured into the 7's today, not even downhill!

I was sure you would have told everyone about our Yoga handstands?!?!

It sounds like you had a great run. I can't wait to run with the BBK's on Tuesday. I just read your race report and I am impressed. You are getting so fast. You're going to do great at Ogden. What time are you hoping for there?

From RAD on Thu, Apr 23, 2009 at 18:11:08 from 67.166.99.8

Kelli - I thought YOU would tell about the handstands, I would hate to do them outside the 'sacred' yoga walls :)

Julie- Thanks!! I had a great time, despite my sore quads going on 5 days now :) I'm really trying not to think about a time for Ogden and just run...it is my 1st marathon and my body doesn't understand the mileage or effort required YET - so I'm just hoping to finish. With that said, I'd really like to finish around 3:50-4:00; but who knows...as long as I finish I'll be happy!!!

I blogged before YOGA. Yoga is usually so uneventful!

You can get that time EASY, if not much faster. All of your running this week with sore legs will help.

You're doing a great job Rachel. I bet you will do great at the Ogden Marathon.

Thanks for the encouragement Rachel. I really miss our running group. I enjoy biking, but it's not the same as running. You can't talk much along the way.
