Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

I went on the most beautiful run this morning!!! Speaking with family, they suggested running around a lake a few miles away. They said it was a popular spot for morning runs/walks - boy were they right! It was wonderful...lots of people (I felt VERY comfortable) and a few runners. However, the landscape took the cake!! I was magnificent, I just was in awe at all the beautiful trees, flower, bushes and when I started there was a light fog settled over the lake. Lake Sacajawea is a long thin lake, about 3.5 miles around and trails to go under cross roads so you never had to deal with traffic. Threre were times I would run past some flowering bushes and just want to stop and smell them!! A rest day and sea level certainly helped my pace today...it felt very comfortable AP 8:10. I'd do splits, but they were all only like 5 seconds faster/slower than that - nice and consistant :)

Came back to the house and did my personal yoga class...then got ready for the funeral. It was a beautiful service and I'm glad I was able to attend. Seems like my Aunt will be moving to Utah soon and I'm really excited, because she is my late father's only sibling and I just feel so close to him when I'm with her! I'll be coming home tomorrow and hope to get up early enough to do a few more miles at the lake in the morning before traveling - I need to get some stress out before flying with 2 young boys!!! See many of you Saturday at JRP :)

Thanks Cheryl! I'm having a hard time admitting it, but I did kind of miss the hills this morning :)

What a beautiful lake run! LUCKY!!! You're amazing running such a consistent pace around 8's. You're gonna do awesome at Ogden. I hope you get a few in at that beautiful lake before flying home. Sounds like a busy Friday. See you Sat. at 6 am. I hope I can keep up with you.

Awesome run and even more AWESOME pace!!!! I am glad you got a nice peaceful run in before the funeral.

Look at your miles this month----you made it over 200!!!! So very cool, that is a BIG month of running. Your marathon is going to be amazing! I think you will pass me at mile 2!!

Good luck on that flight. YIKES. Maybe we will see you Saturday. I have committed to running with Scott, so we will see what pace he decides to waste me with. Not looking forward to that at all.
