Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

BBK day...thank goodness they are all tapering for SGM!! Easy miles, skipped the track workout (last one) and left with the dissenters again (there were MORE this time!) for some road miles. Felt really good to get the legs moving again. Oh, first day for running tights and long sleeves, I'm glad I had them - it was COLD :(

CRAZY morning with the kids. Hubby took the car seat...realized this at 'time to go' time. UGGHHH! Bundle everyone up for a bike ride to school then to the gym, of course we're now running late. Neighbor girl forgets her back pack...home and back to school again, then off the bike to run it into the school before all the doors are locked and I have to go to the front. How do you tri people do it? It's hard to run on 'bike' legs, especially after pushing hard! Finally on my way to the gym with baby on the back of the bike, as usual.

Got to the gym late, so I was quite a bit behind the group for weights. I don't think I got the whole workout in - blame hubby! However, I wasn't too upset :) Total of 35 min instead of 45, so I did my ITB/hip exercises for another 10 minutes. Then since I had to ride the bike home (uphill) I didn't want to do bike, so I took on the stairmaster. VERY low setting, but it was interesting, different for sure -finished 30 minutes, like 60 floors or something. Rode the bike home and now off to kindergarten pick-up, on the bike.

Total bike = 5 miles (as long as I don't need to go anywhere else today!)

Reading that anyone was still doing track/speed work before SG makes me crazy (I'm not ready!!). I guess I could have done more to train, but my goals are not that lofty. Great splits for an 'easy' run. I got out my tights too this morning. It's always a little sad....mostly because other people are now forced to look at my spandex clad bottom.

Like my Grandpa always says, "sounds like you were running around like a chicken with your head cut off" this morning.

Luz, their 'speed' workout was to be a predictor for their marathon times, so more of a fun guess than workout I think :) Yes...long shirts always need to accompany the tights!

MrsFit - your grandpa was right on the money this morning! I had no time to think about how sore I was or that I didn't want to move...until quad burners at the gym - THAT made me remember VERY quickly! :)

Ok tall girls, where do you get your tights???? Just wear the guy ones? I only want to buy one pair this year, what is the best (cheapest ;)

Graet work out by the way :)

Marion, I buy tights at Target and YUP, they're too short. I have about 3-4 inches of cankle that freezes, but what can a tall girl do? If you find some (relatively cheap) I'd love to know as well!!

Sounds like a crazy morning...so much for taking it easy, huh? I thought stairs were your nemesis...what's with 60 floors of stairmaster...and biked to school and gym...crazy girl!

wow, crazy day and already back at it with a great workout. why is it so cold? my toes froze this morning.

From Nancy on Tue, Sep 22, 2009 at 17:03:56 from 76.27.11.127

I even wore my warm stuff this morning. All that biking after running now all you need to do is swim and you've done your own tri. Great job as usual.

From Kelli on Tue, Sep 22, 2009 at 18:33:06 from 71.219.96.151

I think you got the entire workout in, you just did it faster than we did. It sucked today, I hate it when i wimp out but I just have WEAK arms.

Sorry about the no car seat, hope you just stayed home and took a nap!

From RAD on Tue, Sep 22, 2009 at 20:55:48 from 76.27.12.70

Smooth, you're right - they WERE! :) I must conquer all my enemies - love 'em to death!

Allie, one bad thing about nicely ventilated shoes: WINTER!

Nancy, missed you this morning! Too cold to swim outside...maybe I'll try a 'soak' in my neighbor's hot tub? :)

Kelli, no nap, but I sent hubby to dinner with the kids so I do get some me time! WHEEE!

I'm a day late and a dollar short getting to your post. Great job yesterday! You seem to have just had workout on top of workout on top of workout. You were very resourceful about the car seat situation.
