Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Black Friday Run with Peeps! Rachelle, Kelli, Chad, George and Christine all met me at a park by the Mtn View Corridor and we headed for the hills. When everyone took off up the first hill TO the road I knew this wouldn't be a walk in the park! I guess that is what I get for inviting crazy fast people. My legs were a little trashed from yesterday too. Not horrible, but not fresh either.

We had a great run and chat and we did the rollers out to Redwood, at the Jr High we spotted Amy and she ran from there to the turn around with us....then we climbed the mother hill back UP from Redwood. Christine was coming toward Redwood just as we finished at the top of the hill. We invited her to come back with us, but she wanted to take on the hill too! So...we let her :)

The run back I just ran out of steam. I don't know if I was too hot or didn't fuel properly or what, but I was lightheaded and dizzy. Thankfully, Rachelle was willing to stay back with my slow butt! We chatted and Kelli stopped at the pop and Amy cut off to go home. So, I ate a couple jelly beans I had with me and drank some. I knew I only had the wonderful downhill to finish, so I was golden. Still didn't feel on top of the world, but doable.

Finished up 13 miles...rounding out a full marathon in the last 24 hours. I LOVE holiday weekends! Then I drove Chad and Kelli home (they'd both run to the park) and Kelli invited me in for some yummy Great Harvest bread and Hot Cocoa. That girl knows how to refuel! After some more chatting I headed home for a relaxing weekend. Love lazy weekends!

AP: 8:35 (for how I was feeling and the 1000ft of elevation gain from the hills I'll take it!) splits: 8:39, 8:47, 8:59, 8:27, 8:22, 8:21, 9:10 (mother hill from Redwood), 8:33, 8:32, 8:48, 8:02 (DOWN!), 8:22, 8:31

Thanks everyone for a wonderful Black Friday RUN! Much more preferable than shopping...uggghh, I hate shopping.

Those are some great paces for those hills! It was a FUN, FUN, FUN run. Much better than shopping with the crazy people.

Man alive -- you are getting in some serious miles!!! Nice!!! :)

Looks like you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! :)

I agree, going out to exercise with friends is a lot more fun and less stressful than black friday sales.

You put in a lot of miles the last 2 days. Probably ended up burning more calories than you ate at Thanksgiving. Way to go. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

So much better than shopping! Even though I was completely struggling the entire time and so glad no one felt like pushing the pace. No wonder you Heriman runners are invincible & speedy, those hills you guys train on are no joke! Honestly had I known we were going to climb back up that downhill portion I don't think I would have went down. haha I am such a wimp! Thanks so much for the run Rachel. I absolutely loved the conversation and catching up with you.

Sounds like a fun run. The cocoa and bread sound yummy.

I love that you got to run a marathon in 2 days! And a 1/2 on Thanksgiving? I LOVE that idea. My favorite Thanksgiving was probably when we ran 13.1 on the TM, no lie.

I am excited to run with you soon enough!

Devine, right on track for Boston, back to backers and a good pace, sweet X 2

Thats some serious running for a holiday weekend. I was one of those crazy people out shopping. I promise it was a good workout. Got my run in too, just not 2 halfs in 24 hours, thats dedication.

From RAD on Sun, Nov 25, 2012 at 22:47:36 from 67.171.119.50

Kelli, any run is more fun than shopping!

Toby, when you are ready we shall take to the JRP! :)

Teena, I love long weekends for lots of long runs! I'd live like this every day if I could!

bye-wing, you should know me better than that! I could out eat my running any day :)

Rachelle, I LOVED having you out in our corner of the world to run those hills I hate. Now you see why I complain about them all the time :) Someday I may learn to like them...someday.

Nancy, food with friends is always a winning combination!

Becca, that is definitely my best Thanksgiving day memory! Also, the longest I've ever tortured myself on the TM! But it was worth not going out in the 3 below weather!!!

Brent, I was thinking how effective that road will be for Boston training...uggghh, hills. I can't wait! :)

Rachel, the only thing I like about Black Friday shopping is the fun stories you get to come home with and retell for years to come! :) Glad you still got a run in.
