Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

What a fun race! I got there and helped Michelle with registration, it was crazy - so many people!! When the line was gone I ran to the start and luckily there were a couple of people behind me to delay the start a little. AP: 7:39 Splits:

1-  7:51, with 100 ft of gain. Felt pretty good, actually a lot better than Thursday! Kind of excited to see that I was in 1st place out of the women, for the first 3/4 mile then a lady passed me and I tried to catch her until mile 4.5 when I decided she was far enough ahead that she'd earned it  and I wasn't going to catch her anyway :)

2- 8:03, another 100 ft gain and starting the main descent. Passed the first guy I picked off !

3- 7:46, 80 ft descent and another 100 ft up. From the end of mile 1 to the start of mile 3 I was ready to be done....I missed the 2 mile sign and felt like I wanted to stop and those 2 miles seemed 5X as long as the race!!!

4- 7:29, nice downhill. Picked off another male runner, feeling good and realizing that I should probably pick up the pace a little because I'm feeling good and not breathing too hard - nice change from the previous 2 miles!!!

5- 7:30, more downhill. Nice and comfortable, obviously didn't pick it up...I was happy :)

6- 7:22,  mostly downhill with a little hill at the beginning. My pace here surprises me, because the downhills were faster. I think I pushed my pace to pick off the last guy I could see on the uphill, then he kept trying to keep up with me and re-pass me but I didn't let him and he finally fell back. I guess I need someone to help push me!

7- 6:38, (.2) flat/downhill. It was so fun to see the finish and know there were a ton of running friends there to help cheer me on so I had enough left to push through and I did. Plus, I could see the female finishing so I wanted to close the gap a little anyway :)

This was a great race, the hills were at the beginning and made for a nice push to get through the start then a great coast to the finish! It was also fun to finish 2nd woman and 4th overall AND I got a trophy :) I'm like a little kid...but I earned this one, it's the only one I've earned all the rest I have are 'participant' trophies! BIG thanks to Michelle for putting on an AWESOME race....I would definately run the course and race again!

Thanks Allie, it was a fun race but also small! All the BBKers that could've kicked my trash were volunteering and not running :) But I'll take what I can get!

Devine Miss M - 300 commando points for the PR and another 200 for the 1st place and trophy. It is always nice to feel the rewards of hard work. Keep it up, your getting faster and faster with the determination of a tough racer.

By the way, I will explain the HA thing some other day, this is a day to celebrate those runners who pinned on a number, took a chance, had guts, and did their best. Congrads again.

Nice job. And now that I know what goes through a woman's mind when she passes a guy, I'm not going to be so nice to them anymore.

Nice race and great time! I hate when I miss the mile markers, seriously makes for a rough race and I know the feeling of wanting to quit right then. But you did fabulous!
