Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Had to work this morning @ 8:30 and again refused to get up early.

Spent an hour walking a running route around the 'hood. 4 miles (approx) walking with the stroller, dog and 'work' :)

Another busy day...seriously this week is CRAZY!

walking for an hour while pushing a stroller is not rest.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, Jun 03, 2010 at 15:38:39 from 198.241.217.15

I approve of taking long walks while pregnant. It's not rest, but it's not too strenuous either. I walked throughout my third pregnancy and slipped and fell on the ice the day before I had the baby.

I agree that it's not rest, but I think for RAD, this is a good rest.

Crazy weeks end, and this one is almost over! You're only one day away from the end :-)

I think walking 4 miles pushing a stroller is plenty enough exercise for someone who is due in less than a month. Keep up the good work and if possible keep taking it easy.

KP, not quite rest you're right - but I'm driving my family crazy by not getting my daily dose of adrenaline in!

Carolyn, YIKES! Glad the snow is gone and I don't have to worry about that. I do like walking, and with my 'work' this morning I nearly drove her into the ground with this short walk, so a run would've REALLY been out of the question.

QP, oh if my 'week' ended on Friday that would be nice...However, I feel like I'm not 'off' until June 22nd. Too much to do/worry about between now and then!

Nancy, I've got such a busy/packed few weeks that I may have to forgo exercise just to fit it all in. With school out I'm working with my 'work' a lot more in the mornings which puts a big snag in MY plans...but taking a month off of work I need to balance some of the money too.

Um so I was just glancing at your blog because I haven't been on FRB for so long. Your pic from Monday is SO CUTE!!! You don't even look prego! Plus you look EXTREMELY happy. That baby of yours is going to be running out of the womb! I am proud that you did that race. Now is the time for you to rest.

It has been a busy week hasn't it? Are your kids finished with school this week? Oh the good ol' days of summer. I love being a teacher sometimes.

Good luck with your busy days. I have been pretty busy this week and well but next week I get a break. Getting a 4 miles walk in is still some good physical activity!

From RAD on Fri, Jun 04, 2010 at 15:08:48 from 67.172.229.125

Becca, thanks :) I did have a great time! My kids are year-round, we'll be waiting until June 2nd to be out of school *sigh*

Michelle, good luck with the break next week!! I think we need excuses every once in a while :)
