Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

I'm getting some killer miles in this week...whatever. I guess it is all in the name of recovery, but the numbers sometimes get to me. I'm still feeling tired legs, not much soreness, but the ride yesterday probably didn't help the tired legs issue. I also have a couple little aches that aren't resolving how I'd like them to, so more rest (sleep) and less muscle/impact on the legs = swimming tomorrow.

Met the Newtons for our Urban Trail Loop. We had a good little crowd there and had a good time discussing the benefits and drawbacks to the new Obesity medication that was just FDA approved. On NPR on the way home they said "diet and exercise aren't effective." What the...what?!? man alive...anyway, back to running.

I forgot to switch the garmin from biking mode after yesterday, so this run was a 'bike' on the garmin. Thus, no splits - just an AP, which kind of bums me out. I really think I had some 9's in there this morning!! Now, I don't get to see them :) But, I enjoyed my time the last couple miles just running with Christine and getting to know her better. I let the boys duke it out for the win today.

**********************RHPC RUN*********************

If any of you would like, you're more than welcome to do the RHPC (Red Hot Pink Chicks run on July 7th. Just a fun get together, down on the Provo River Parkway. We're planning on starting at 6:30 from the Riverview Park in Orem/Provo. We do a half distance, but there will be no markings or whatever...so do what you want (more or less). We have a pot-luck feast afterward if you'd like to bring anything to share. We will provide paper products and a big jug of water at the end, but no trail support. If you want more details let me know and I'll happily provide them. Oh, and guys...you are more than welcome, hey even ENCOURAGED to attend. IF you can handle the pink :)

Swim, nice active recovery, same thing for me tomorrow. Who are the figs? I would expect the figs to protest.

Sounds like you need a couple of easy days, get over those hot spots.

Julie, I'm excited! Maybe I'll bring my bike and we can do a climb up the canyon afterward :) oh...wait, carpooling. shoot. nevermind. I guess I should just backspace, oh well. Too lazy...I'll just keep typing :)

Scott, you would LOVE it! Bring along a few 'pink' friends too!

Brent, I actually got out to Blackridge this afternoon and did 5 laps (approx 500yds each). I feel SO much better now! Almost well enough to run, but I'm going to play it smart and not. Did you see my climb on Wed? Proud bike moment for me! Also, if there is a day you'd be willing to meet and show me (ride with me) on the Utah Half course I'd LOVE it!
