Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

I was going to run today, but Wednesdays are crazy days at the gym and baby got whiny (surprise, surprise - he is still a bit whiny from being sick last week) so I didn't get everything in that I wanted.

Started on the stair climber and I have decided that that machine is THE beast! Sweating like crazy, a good 'tempo run' cardio workout and the stairs never stop or slow down - they just keep coming! A great workout. Had to take my little guy to/from swim lessons during the workout, so I only  got 25 minutes total in, but 125 floors conquered.

Then I hit the weight area to do some hip flexor exercises to help recovery. Then after those and some planks Sarah came and got me for volleyball. I love my Wednesday smack down! Good workout volleying around. Problem came that the racquetball courts we play in (helps limit chase time when you shenk the ball) are right across from where the baby is and when they took him out to take him to the main room he saw me - and well, it was over at that point. I did talk them into letting me go do 5 min of stretching before, so I got the most important part in.

Lots of chatting at the gym and maybe not so much workout, but it was still good :) I'm now ready for a good hill climb tomorrow!!

That is a wicked number of stairs.

There are only two people in the world to a baby: mama and not-the-mama.

125 flights of stairs? Sounds like the people who race up the top of the empire state building. Only they get to stop & catch their breath, and if you stop, you'll fall off the machine & look silly.

Maybe that's what helps motivate someone to stay on the machine? Fear of getting dumped on the floor :-)

Wow, if there are about 16-18 stairs in a flight of stairs, and about 20 flights os stairs in a mile, then you must have gone...really far. As for the chatting - that's what makes working out fun, too bad you can't measure chatting in miles/or kilos :).

Carolyn, you are so right! That 'non-momma' doesn't work when you are tired and/or hungry!

QP, the 'pride' factor was the only thing that kept me going on that darn stair climber, and when your feet start slipping off the bottom - you'd better pick it up!

Bye-wing, yeah...lots of stairs! It was good though, and so was the chatting :)
