Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Met the BBK's at Monarch Meadows park to run the pumpkin run in reverse (UP first!!) Started out nice and slow and got to chat with Michelle for a while, then when everyone stopped to regroup I kept running and Kelli came along with me (I knew those speedsters would catch back up). Once we hit the park we did an extra 1/2 mile out on Butterfield Park Rd so we'd finish with a full 6. Had a wonderful nice easy downhill run back, then decided to take an extra loop with Kelli and Becca that turned out to be about 1.5. Since I was now pretty close to 9, I decided to go for it and make it 9, so I ran with Kelli back to her house and then the last part of the loop again. I totally missed the addition/guessing of miles, because back at the car I finished at 9.87....so I finished up at 10.

AP: 9:20 HR(147) splits: 9:17 (151), 10:03 (153),  9:43 (156), 9:01 (143), 9:12 (140), 9:03 (144), 9:18 (147), 9:07 (144), 9:27 (148), 9:06 (140) - again it amazes me how I can tell the hills not only by the slower pace, but significantly faster HR.

Now I'm off to the gym for weight training (45 min) and then I'll ride the bike for another 1/2 hr or so to spin these legs out!!

NICE JOB!!! I wondered if that was going to be too fay for just a mile, BUT now you can take it easy tomorrow. See ya in a minute, I am so not in the mood for training today, too tired.

So you just ran 10 miles, and then you're going to do another workout, and then you're going to ride the bike. You are a maniac.

If someone didn't know about hills, looking at your stats they would conclude that your heart rate goes up when you slow down. It just shows how much hills take out of you (and I don't mean you specifically, I mean anyone).

Kelli, it was okay I actually was feeling good and thinking about how nice it will be to do a shorter Saturday run :) I also am NOT looking forward to training...only one more Tuesday left for me! :)

Carolyn, That would be interesting to see a higher HR on a slower pace if you didn't know I was pulling about 200 ft of elevation gain every mile! I always knew hills were tough, but tracking your HR through them really shows you how tough it is!!!

YEEE HAAAWWW!!! That was a fantastic run up those hills this morning. I can't imagine finishing off a 10k with those hills...How did you do it my friend? But then again, it's RAD we are talking about here.

Thank you for the refreshing, soothing, enjoyable 1.5 mile loop. Good conversation, and true running friends.

10...WAY TO GO! Nice HR control as well.

Your run and workout(S) make me tired. I think I'll go take a nap for you!!!

From RAD on Tue, Nov 10, 2009 at 19:53:31 from 76.27.12.70

Bec, it was a good time! If you're ever interested in running those hills again, let me know and you can tag along on a good 12 or 16 mile loop :)

Smooth, I sure need a nap today! Thanks!! You truly are the best :)
