Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Nothing...ab.so.lutely nothing! (if you can name that movie without google help you will be my best friend and gain all my respect!).

Yup. Got home and in bed at 12:30AM from Lagoon and there was no way in heaven (or the devil's home) that I was going to get up to go to running group...or run at all for that matter. I was tired and sore and I just wanted to sleep. So I did! Miles, schmiles. If I fall short of my goal this week...oh well. Enjoying running and being happy and healthy are bigger priorities, right?

I still had to work at 7, but the nice thing about my work is I can do it in my pj's :) so, alarm was set for 7AM. Ninety minutes later I got all three kids I was watching loaded in the car with baby (all the other kids were still sleeping, but I had to take him so he got early wake up too) and turned the key...nothin'. Ugghhhhh.....

Lets just say the next 8 hours of my life were spent dealing with a car that wouldn't start. Luckily a very generous neighbor helped me jump the car (which didn't work) and then drive all the kids to their parks. Later I did get a jump to work, so I drove the car to the dealership - needed oil change and em/insp anyway- while they checked it out (we still have a warranty, so we have to take it there). 4 hours and $450 later I got to go home.

4 kids + waiting room + 4 hours = disaster!

I finally got home at 4:30 ready to shower and get the day started, yeah PM. Just in time for work to show up again at 5:15...lovely. She asked why the car worked now. I told her "because the whole time you were off playing today I was sitting in a dealership waiting for the car to get fixed!" She just laughed.

Needless to say, nothing else happened today. I came home and flopped. Someone must've known that in order to get me to rest I needed to be pushed off the edge. The rest day was nice and I actually feel like getting up tomorrow morning to run. That hasn't happened in a while :)

At least your tendon isn't torn in half!!! Jk, sorry about your day. I hate car trouble, worst thing ever. You are a crazy-awesome mom for taking your chillins to Lagoon.

That doesn't sound like rest, it sounds like stress.

Did I miss something somewhere? I keep hearing something about work, but after looking back at posts I can't see anything except for the babysitting? Is that it? Whatever work it is, work always adds some stress, that's for sure. I'm glad you took a day off running so you could rest. :)

Devine Miss M - darn life getting in the way of working out, sucks, some days are just out of your control, enjoy the time off, stick out your nose, smell the air, lace up those shoes, show the day who is boss, run on my friend.

Stay Kool, B of BS Rools out

Chad, hmmm...yeah, you're right! :)

Brooke, I work with foster children that have disabilities. Basically a glorified babysitter, but you have to be trained and certified. So, it is work and babysitting is different, but it really isn't work :) Getting paid to do fun things like bowling, swimming, golfing, movies...yeah, not really work. Plus, I can always take my kids with me too. This week I've just needed to supervise in the mornings then take them to their summer programs at parks in South Jordan. Not too bad for $160, but it's the sleep thing that is getting to me!

Brent, out of control you say? Yeah...sounds about right. I did stick it out this morning and certainly don't regret it! I was the boss today.

Smooth, it was a blechy day, but I'm glad it's over now! Sunday...I ALWAYS look forward to Sundays. Especially now that I've been released :)
