Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Oh how I love yoga, but not waking up early to run so that I can GO to yoga at the gym. I laid in bed contemplating how I could get out of having to get up and run: skip yoga, run a few before and a few after, Do an extra long run tomorrow...c'mon think! think! think! Couldn't come up with a good alternative, so I got my lazy butt out of bed and went to the gym to run on the TM.

The miles were MUCH easier than yesterday and the paces were a tad faster, so I'm taking this as a good sign that my body is starting to recover. There were people to watch at the gym, but no one on a TM to chat with :( But thankfully I'd remembered my ipod and it kept me entertained.

AP: 9:18 Started a@ 9:31 for 2 miles, then 9:22 for one then 9:13 for 2, then I started mile 6@ 8:57 and worked my way faster every .15 or so and ended at 7:30 for the last .1 of the run. Another good progressive run!

Went home, showered, grabbed the baby (hubby left for work) and ran back to the gym for yoga. I was SO tired I kept nearly falling over and/or fainting. Similar thing yesterday on the bike and shoveling snow. I don't know what is wrong with me, I guess I'm just exhausted! It was a good class though and I really needed some of that stretching and workout. Wendy is the BEST yoga teacher around!

Now I think you need a NAP!!! Let your body get better!

From KP on Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 13:36:15 from 65.208.22.25

I miss yoga... haven't done it in a while. You are SO CLOSE to 1,000. Keep it up!

From RAD on Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 13:40:27 from 67.172.229.125

Carina, baby was ready to be fed and sleep so I took him to bed and just woke up from a morning nap! However, my other children are feeling a tad neglected :)

KP, yoga is SO nice - when you don't feel like you're falling over :) I didn't realize I only have to run 5.08 tomorrow to hit it! So, now the question becomes...do I become an over-achiever and go over or hit it exactly? hmmmmm...

From Carina on Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 13:42:19 from 204.15.86.83

Overachieve for sure!!! I'm glad you got a nap, and your kids will get over it :)

Almost there Ms. RAD. Just a few more miles to get to your stated goal!

Nice 6.2 average this week.

From RAD on Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 16:18:20 from 67.172.229.125

Carina, okay - I'll add a tad extra just for you!

Slick, I'm very excited that my hard work has paid off!

Becca, I hate to stop at 6 - I have to make it a nice 10K :)

Enjoy crossing that 1000 mile mark tomorrow!

From allie on Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 17:07:25 from 174.23.238.75

i think you should run 5.2810 miles tomorrow.

From RAD on Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 17:14:54 from 67.172.229.125

Terri, Thanks! I'll do a little happy dance just for you!

Allie, getting in 1000.2010 miles would be VERY awesome; however, the TM's don't go to that many 'ths' so hitting it would be pretty hard. I may have to just take a close guestimate :)

From allie on Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 17:44:50 from 174.23.238.75

it would be 5.28 miles plus an exhale-inhale-exhale and then that's it. jump off the treadmill immediately and tell everyone around you what you did. i will bring confetti and t-shirts to support you.

From The Quiet Pirate on Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 18:08:11 from 71.77.158.102

You're working hard & running strong. Just be kind to your body & don't over do it. "Take er easy."

I'll be thinking of you crossing the 1000 mile mark too!!

From Smooth on Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 21:51:43 from 67.2.79.80

ONE THOUSAND!!! 1,000!!! What a GRAND goal! Tomorrow's the day, eh! So excited for you! All that determination. I LOVE all your 10Ks this week and you only have to run 5.28 to reach your goal for the year! What are you going to do to celebrate?!!!

Any plan for New Year's Day run?

From Tom Slick on Fri, Dec 31, 2010 at 10:39:35 from 69.171.160.181

Whats your goal mileage for 2011? Is that the Slam I see you've listed in your short term running goals? Get after it!
