Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

With the weather turning cold, I'm not sure I'll ever get outside again. It scares me. I hate the shivering freeze when you come inside after you're done!

4 miles on the TM - warm-up @8:34, MP mile @7:53, rest @8:34, MP mile @7:53 with pickups to the end for a fast finish. AP: 8:20

30 min of upper body weights. Main arms, shoulders and back.

4 miles back on the TM - warm-up @ 8:34, 2 MP miles 7:53 for the first, 7:41 for the second with pick ups to the end, finished with an 8:20, but had to go faster the last .25 to keep up with the song on the ipod :) AP: 8:13

AP for all 8 miles was 8:16

Spent 20 minutes afterward stretching on their special stretching machines - always a good time to relax and enjoy!

Gotta get back on the good eating bandwagon. My tummy hasn't been happy lately with all the crap I've been trying to pass off as food.

I need to jump on that bandwagon too! My breakfast this morning - dried fruit, Milky Way, and fruit snacks. Not exactly something to be proud of!

Andrea, I usually start out the day well, but by 3PM all caution is thrown to the wind and by 8PM (quitting time on eating around here) it's been all but ruined. Oh, and I don't quit! :)

as long as you haven't been eating good & plenty's...

nice run on the TM -- but you will have to come outside again at least once for either a)christmas eve run (vegan donuts!) or b)new year's day run (you know you love 4 degrees)

also, the halloween half -- you are doing it, right? james and i are the 1:30 pacers. i'll look for you. my costume is better than last year...

Suddenly I became jealous of those running the Halloween Half! Will they please stream it live??? I will watch it with a bowl of popcorm in hand from Del Rio. My favorite race! You feel lame if you DON'T dress up.

Anyway RAD, your workout today was fabulous. I like the mix up of miles and arms. I know how hard it can be getting back on the TM after a weight session. Great job.

Maybe I should workout my upper body? It's been months. Hmmmm. Stairs. :)

Andrea,

That breakfast sounds delicious. :)

I am missing summer running already.

Speaking of the shoty weather, I am miserable today already. I feel blue AGAIN. It's going to be a long winter...

WAY to burn up the TM with some weights in between!

I've been eating like a garbage disposal lately! :)

You mean those cream cheese filled pretzels at Disney aren't healthy? I had WAY too many those. Nice workout today!

You shiver when you finish a run in the cold. I ran at 26 degrees this morning and the first thing I noticed when I walked back in the door was that it was HOT inside.

From RAD on Thu, Oct 27, 2011 at 15:02:42 from 98.202.23.178

Allie, you'd better believe I will come outside again, especially if there is promise of vegan donuts :) Oh, and yes I'll be at the halloween half, I'm going to run with Kelli @ 1:50. Look for the tall pink haired lady :)

Becca, you and those stairs - we may need to hold an intervention!

Smooth, me too - but I didn't run 50 miles Saturday, or even all WEEK! You've earned your disposal eating :)

Toby, no, they aren't but the dole pineapple whips certainly are! :)

Chad, seriously? you don't shiver like crazy when you finish a run? I come inside and yes, it maybe hot momentarily, but then I begin to freeze. I shake uncontrollably for about 10-15 minutes. This is usually after I change into dry clothes and am wrapped in a blanket. Sometimes I'll even throw one of those rice bag things in the microwave too. Man...maybe I am just weird :(
