Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Boxing class in the AM with Lena, great HIIT training

6 miles at the gym on the track/TM

Warrior Boot Camp with Robyn...I wanted more boxing and less "aerobics" but still a good workout!

6 miles early in the morning running down to boxing class.

Met Craig there and did Cyle's boxing class...always a workout!

Met Blaine at Yellow Fork to take the dogs on a run. Lucy enjoyed her little jaunt. I had to take off to get boys to their doctor appointments. 4 miles total in the frozen mud and ice.

A crazy day.... lots of kids appointments to take care of and I did what I could in the mean-time to get my miles etc in.

Lena's HIIT boxing class for 45 min

1 mile running while Adam finished music class

Drove to the gym and threw him in chuck a child

Got 4.5 miles done in the 35 minutes I had until daycare closed (finally hitting decent paces), then I did 1.5 more on the track while Adam entertained himself on my phone and waited in the chair by the track. at 11 laps/mile I get to see him quite often and he is a good "screen time" kid too :)

I then did a double boxing class in the evening, because I want to go to some different instructors and try them out.

Marci did her HIIT boxing class and I was late, because of a mix up with dinner for a family in the ward. Then Cat was out and Jimmy substituted for her, so I had a one on one class with Jimmy...holy crap. He had me solo on the bags for the whole hour! Man alive, but I had a lot of fun :) my shins are all nice and bruised from learning to kick!

Shaggy Mountain with the Newtons in the early morning hours. I was just a little slow because of my workout last night.

I then went back to Cyle's class at 9:15 to get another beat down.

Afterward I met Kelli at Yellowfork to see how muddy it was. Oh man...warm weather and rain make for nice muddy trails. It was slow going up AND down. But, another few miles to add to the total for the day.

Because of all the jumping and moving on the cement floor at boxing my shins are starting to yell at me, so I figured it would be a good day to relax and take off running.

I did Marci's HIIT class and she had us doing sprints etc around the parking lot, so I probably got a mile in, but meh...

Then the gym added a yoga class after Marci's class. Oh it was SO good to be back at yoga! I truly enjoyed it.

I should've run a quarter more to make it 13...I feel like a slacker!

Kelli, Heidi, Shanna, Dave and I met at my house and we did the Shaggy Mountain half course, but didn't go through the Nazi camp. Instead we did Moody hill, up to Shaggy Mountain Rd then at the top of the road we took a side trail to the peak like we did last week. Oh it was good! Then we came home up and over the flag pole hill. The only thing I like about that is going over the Mario Kart strip :)

Kelli gave us a Christmas treat of Coke with Almond Joy creamer...wow! I don't drink soda, but man I may have to change that. SO yummy!!! Then Shana gave us muffins that were clean and SO good! I need to get to baking soon.

A great run and despite our slow pace, it was a really strong effort...at least on my part!
