Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Free Redbox night last night messed up my morning plan. We didn't start the movie until 10:30, so I was up until 12:30 AM watching Lovely Bones. Then, after watching it there was NO way I was going to go running by myself in the morning! It's not a bad show, but it's just strange...left me with weird dreams all night.

So, I went to the total body  class this morning. It was a good class, she normally does more legs or arms, but it was a good balance.

Then I did the TM for 3.1 miles to finish up my day care time. It was nice to have Kelli there to chat with! The TM always goes SO much faster when you have someone to chat with - and a crazy steroid pumped up trainer to laugh at :) I finished in an AP of about 9:40 - starting out slow really does help me a TON!!

Since day care time was up, I headed home then changed my shoes and put on a running jacket and long pants. I left my kids in the watchful eye of my neighbor across the street and let them play the wii, and ran the stake 5K loop around the 'hood. It was good to get out on the street, and I only had a tiny bit of anxiety left from the movie :)

can you only leave your kids in daycare for a certain amount of time?

From RAD on Tue, May 04, 2010 at 15:11:51 from 67.172.229.125

Yeah, we only get 90 min free time a day - then we have to pay $2/hour. So, I opted for a neighbor and to save the money...plus I hate the TM and wanted to go outside :)

wow! i wonder if my gym charges. i have no clue since i don't have kiddos. i am thinking it doesn't though. move to alabama and get free daycare!

From RAD on Tue, May 04, 2010 at 15:44:50 from 67.172.229.125

yeah...here in Utah it's the only way the gym makes money :) When everyone has a family of 4-6 kids that all need day care, they have to charge. In AL, I'm sure they're just glad to see a kid every once in a while :)

I read that book a while ago... haven't seen the movie.

Nice workout today!

I don't blame you for sleeping in. I can't believe you ran 3 on the tm, did a class and still came home and ran another 3 outside. Great job.

Lori, I think the book would be better than the movie - I may have to check it out.

Nancy, I'm good at finding any excuse possible to sleep in! :)

Toby, thanks! Hang in there girl - you'll be back at it soon!!

Brent, Mother's day may be a bit of a bust this year and next - my son's b-day is this Saturday and next year will be ON mother's day. I usually get too wrapped up in his special day to think about what I want to do for mine :)

Smooth, I'm actually almost 33 weeks - working on the 3rd trimester! :)

MrsFit, thanks - it's nice to feel good at this point!

The book is fantastic!!!!!! I haven't seen the movie yet.

Any good book reccomendations?

From RAD on Wed, May 05, 2010 at 14:11:36 from 67.172.229.125

hmmm...my favorite lately has been "The Calligrapher's Daughter" It's a historical fiction about a girl growing up in WWII era Japanese occupied Korea. I'm not much of a drama reader - I enjoy historical fiction MUCH more! I'm working on "Same Kind of Different as Me" now.
