Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Off day - no miles, rest for tomorrow! Especially after being on my feet all day yesterday cleaning and mopping, Cinderella is done!

75 minutes on the elliptical to get moving and feel like I had an excuse to eat  today :)

Oh, and best news is I got into SGM!!! Now to plan how to get the training in in 10 weeks after going through and recovering from delivery....

I think if I keep my miles (or at least cardio) up till the baby comes, I should be okay with a 10 week training plan. Here's to keeping my fingers crossed! It probably won't end up in a PR or a BQ, but I'm sure I'll be able to finish...one way or another :)

10 weeks isn't a ton of time for training, but at least you're not starting from scratch. but it's an awesome marathon and you'll love it regardless.

CONGRATS for making the lottery. Cinderella can make magics! I second Cal!

Cal, I'm hoping I can simply get up to at least one 20 miler - bad part is I can't plan too much until I see how baby stuff goes. Maybe I can use this as an excuse to get induced earlier? :)

Smooth, thanks! I'm really excited about it - I guess my carriage didn't turn back into a pumpkin last night :)

YEAH!!!!!!! One big YEAH from me. Is that why you took off out of the gym so fast?

From RAD on Fri, May 07, 2010 at 13:57:21 from 67.172.229.125

Kelli - Maybe :) No, I was supposed to be home at 10 to start 'work' and I looked at the clock and remembered it was 10 minutes slow and I was late! My neighbor (who's kid I watch) is VERY particular about time!!!

Devine - congrads on ST Marathon, hope to see you done there, wee haa, horray, jump for joy - enough excitement, get to work training, hey.

Enjoy getting ready for SGM.

From KP on Fri, May 07, 2010 at 14:33:10 from 65.208.22.26

Yay! Congrats, Rach! You will do awesome at SGM, I have no doubt. You are running so strong now at 7.5 months pregnant. You will recover quickly from the delivery. Just don't overdo it before the baby comes. 10 weeks is plenty of time for someone in the shape you're in to train. It's just a "fun" race; not a PR race!

From Nancy on Fri, May 07, 2010 at 18:16:07 from 76.27.19.206

You'll do a great job in the SGM. If you can run as fast and as far as you do 7 and 1/2 months pregnant I'm sure the SGM will be a walk in the park.

Devine, by the way, 75 minutes on the elip is not a day off, cross training miles, a day off is setting on the couch eating bon bons, you seem to never park it.

Brent, will do! I hope to make this the first of MANY trips down there :) Oh, and I can't park it...I like to eat too much and eating for two is too good of an excuse! Must move if I want to eat.

Paul, I think the best part about getting ready for it will be losing 20 pounds in 4 weeks! Well, and the sweet baby I'll get as well.

KP, I will definitely keep that in mind, especially while training :)

Nancy, I'm more worried about the miles - I feel okay with 13, but 26 seems daunting right now!
