Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Boxing class with Craig at 6AM - I enjoy going with him!

Yellow Fork Canyon run with the Run Aways. Blaine let me run a little faster so that I could get to pick Adam up on time from pre-school. We went up afterward and visited with the rest of the group. Adam loves his Tuesday visits with the runaways!

Boxing class, then I had to rush off to get Adam to music, then I hit the track at the gym to run. Oh man. I had 25 minutes before the day-care closed to get the 3 miles in. I wasn't sure my slow legs would take it! But I timed my last mile at 7:30 and I finished up my miles just in time to get him from the day care. My legs can move! :)

Boxing class with Kelli then we hit the gym. 2 miles on the track then went to the TM. I did a progressive run on the TM and finished at 9.0 - okay, I really only got up to 8.0 before the last tenth of a mile and had 4 miles in 36 minutes, so it wasn't super fast.

Boxing class with Marci, she always kicks my trash. Then I took Adam to the gym so that I could get my run in and the daycare was full. I stuck him on a corner of the track with my ipone to watch movies and I got a good 4 miles in before the attendant found him :) He just made Adam sit on the chairs instead of on the track...so I still finished up my miles. Score. I finished the 7 miles in just over an hour...maybe 63 minutes?

I drug my tired butt out of bed to get to YF in time to meet Kelli and Kim for a 10 mile trail run down a new section I hadn't been on before. Everything went wrong in the morning...I was late! I forgot my headlamp too. So, I used my phone light...not effective! Anyway, I was tired from staying up until 2AM cleaning and then getting up at 5:30 for the run. I'm always tired.

The run was worth it though. Great company and beautiful scenery! Gorgeous sunrise and the best trail in YF I've been on in a long time. All good things! The weather wasn't horrible like last week either. I need new trail shoes though. My feet felt every rock and hurt for days after. Ugh. No money.

After the run I went home, changed clothes and went to boxing class. A great workout! Then I headed back to the gym, since the rain and wind had come in with a vengence, and did 4 miles. 2 on the track and 2 on the TM. My legs were tired. Very tired. We did 10.4ish on the trail and then in boxing we did 3-3 minute runs around the gym, so I called that 11 even and then the 4 at the gym gave me 15 for the day.
